An informative and insightful workshop for all aspiring drummers and those interested to know how to play drums creatively in a performance. Know about the various techniques and ideas to bring your performance to another level from one of the most experienced and talented drummer.
Join Jonathan Scully as he demonstrates drum techniques & how to create different sounds from a standard drum kit in performances on different genres & styles of music. He will be joined by fellow musicians to demonstrate application of techniques in a performance during the second half of the workshop.
Jonathan Scully
Jonathan Scully started playing the drums at the tender age of 5. Coming from a long line of musicians, he has been exposed to various genres of music from a very young age. Jonathan does not only play music professionally, he also teaches drums during the day time.
Occasionally, he plays with Spunk Unit and The Kelvyn Yeang Band at various locations in Penang. In 2017, Jonathan played with Ocean of Fire at the World Youth Jazz Festival in Kuala Lumpur. Currently, Jonathan plays with his band Somebody Who at the Healy Macs Irish pub at Straits Quay.
