Wilson Quah's Bio
Wilson began his music career teaching music and performing in Penang while in his teens before moving to Singapore to work with Victor Music Centre (JVC) as the music school’s Administrator and Trainer for their teachers in Singapore and Malaysian branches.

Graduated Spring ‘86 at Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA majoring in Jazz Studies. Directed jazz studies under Phil Wilson. Jazz piano performance studies under Prof. Bruce Thomas (Chet Baker ensemble) and Prof. Craig Najjar (prodigy student of Bill Evans).

Wilson, who conducts music workshops on contemporary music education, jazz performance and improvisation, jazz harmony, composition and arranging, piano masterclasses for music teachers, musicians and music students at music schools, conservatoires, colleges and universities around the region (in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Taiwan) is also Author, writer and editor of numerous music education publications and music journals for Rhythm MP as the Chief Editor and currently, as the R & D Consultant (Music Education) and has also composed, arranged and produced movie (Retribution, The Fighter) and TV drama (Anggerik Dicelah Duri) soundtracks, TV and radio commercials.

Formed The Wilson Quah Jazz Trio in 1995, the band was renamed "Tonal Alchemy" in 2001.

Wilson has performed at a number of jazz festivals, concert events and gigs around the region, namely, Penang Island Jazz Festival, KK Jazz Festival 2009, Semarang Jazz Traffic, Surabaya Jazz Traffic and in 2014, he was invited as the pianist for the Sandy Winarta Quartet featuring Sierra Soetedjo at Java Jazz 2014.
